The Preamble
We all know and love K-Pop, but what about T-Pop? Or maybe it’s T-Rap. Hmm…that sounds like I’m referring to a distant cousin of the T-Rex, but apparently, that’s a whole different Reaper of Death.
But I digress – I’m not here to talk about dinosaurs. Although, if we’re talking about amazing beasts, let’s talk about Thai rap sensation Milli. (How’s that for bringing things back around?)
I’ll just say she’s on heavy rotation across all my streaming platforms. To the point where if I were to tell Siri to “play something I like,” there’s no doubt that “Mirror Mirror” would be a part of whatever oddly curated list my robot phone created for me. Lately, I’ve been wondering what it would be like if two rap forces like Milli and Agust D combined. So now, that’s become one of my dream collabs because, well, I think it’s just something the world needs.
The TLDR is that Milli is great. I’m a fan. You should be too. And “you” refers to all of you, plural, and Min Yoon-gi, specifically.
The Pitch
Hey there, Mr. Lil Meow Meow. I’m looking at you. Directly at you. Right straight in your eyes. The eyes that live on the head housing your musical genius of a brain. Given your track record* I think it’s safe to say you know the heat of a fire when you feel it. You probably hear the crackle of trapped steam escaping from wood in little mini explosions before the rest of us even realize something is ablaze. You stay living in the glow of the flames while we continue to stumble in the dark; you see the light.
And, right now, that heat you feel? The warmth that’s radiating around your face? It’s coming from another light: Milli. Because, to put it mildly (and in the key of A major), this girl is on fire.**
Fire. Two elements combusting, producing a heat capable of both calming comfort and complete destruction. A final product that’s an absolute force to be reckoned with.
You, sir, are fire. Milli is fire. And what happens when, instead of fighting fire with fire, you merge the flames? It becomes an unstoppable super fire. I can’t prove that’s a real thing, but I’m running it through my internal common sense-o-meter and it seems to check out.
As not an esquire, I can neither confirm nor deny that creating and posting a mashup constitutes copyright infringement. But also, as not a mashup artist, I wouldn’t know how to do that anyway, so the point is rendered moot. Instead, I invite you to use your imagination to merge this:
with this:
I think we can agree that this would be a musical fire. It would also be a great song to add to the rotation on Suga Radio (which is a pitch we’ll save for another day. Actually, that’s not necessary – you should have your own radio station, period. Another aside though, how do we feel about a boxing gym called “Suga Radio Leonard” that exclusively plays the aforementioned Suga Radio station 24/7? Don’t say no right away, just let it sink in and think about it.)
To close, I’ll simply say this: You and Milli are like wildfires blazing new trails. You cannot be contained, so you might as well ignite those flames and, in the inimitable words of Usher, let it burn.
It’s all in your hands now. Fire away.
*Yes, pun INTENDED. I mean “track record” in terms of your record(s) of actual songs and in terms of using past performance as an indicator of future performance.
**Did you know that there is a version of this song called – get this – the “Inferno”version that features Nicki Minaj? I didn’t know that until just now. To carry that coincidence even further, Milli has cited Minaj as an influence, and has even drawn comparisons to her on occasion. How’s that for full circle?

Yes! Let it burn!!
